Visualization of Student Trajectory & Achievement

The Visualization of Student Trajectory & Achievement (ViSTA) is a seven screen data visualization tool for informing middle schools on how their students are progressing and performing in Arizona’s public high schools and beyond, including district and charter schools.

By connecting the dots across grade levels and schools, ViSTA helps build a more completelongitudinal picture of how students experience the public education system as a whole.

Most importantly, ViSTA empowers middle and high school educators and administrators to identify key points for intervention and support—ensuring students are better prepared for the next stage in their educational path.

How Are Students Doing in High School?

ViSTA comes with a powerful filter engine that allows middle and high schools to drill into to the data overall and for specific groups of students – those with high absences, in special programs, etc. and so they can improve student outcomes.

Schools can answer the following questions about their former students:

  • Who are our students?
  • Where are they attending high school?
  • Where are the schools located?
  • What are their high school GPAs?
  • How are they doing in core subjects?
  • Does their performance vary by high school?
  • How did students do as they went through high school?
  • Where—and why—did students go off track?
  • Are students taking the 16 courses for college admission?
  • Are students taking college credit courses in high school?
  • How did students perform in Advanced Placement courses?
  • How did students perform in Dual Enrollment courses?
